WELCOME CASE NOTES WHAT'S ON VOLUNTEERS REFUGEES

MONEY - DONATIONS AND FUND RAISING
The Bosnian Support Fund has no staff costs or overheads or office expenses. Steering Group meetings are held every two months and are attended by trustees and friends of the charity. All administration and organisation of events is done voluntarily. Our volunteer, Bernard McMahon draws no salary and stays in the refugee centre or with Bosnian families he visits during his field trips (only his travel expenses are covered). Every penny we collect goes towards the people we aim to help.
In order to raise funds we have local groups who organise small fund-raising events (jumble sales, coffee mornings, etc.) in Leeds and in London. We also organise bigger events during the year such as concerts and lectures - please click here to see forthcoming events.
Of course, we also rely heavily on donations from individuals and organisations. Some people have also raised money for us through their charity commission at work, or through collecting in their office. Because we are such a small-scale, focused charity it is very satisfying for people to know exactly where their money is going and the results they achieve. Just to give you an idea of what donations can buy, here is a list of purchases made on behalf of families.
  • £10 buys a hen
  • £200 buys a goat
  • £200 buys a sheep
  • £250 buys a new window, or repairs shell-damaged brickwork or roofing
  • £600 buys a cow

  • If you would like to make a donation you can send it to either one of the following addresses;

    17 Anselm Road, London, SW6 1 LH
    or
    9 Southwood Mansions, Southwood Lane, London, N6
    We also get requests from our school/college aged children for computers - if your firm is maybe upgrading its I.T systems and needs a good home for its old computers, please contact us.
